Forty-six Hamlets and counting.

Halfway through the Meridian season, the role finally stopped feeling like a mountain and started feeling like a room I live in. The graveyard scene now plays in near-darkness with a single lantern — the quietest moment of my career, and the one the audience remembers.

Twenty-one nights of rain.

We shot Neon Parish on consecutive night shoots through real weather — no rain towers, no shortcuts. Elias barely speaks forty pages in the whole film, so everything had to live in the hands and the eyes. I have never been so tired, or so sure the camera was catching something true.
